Food
Your kitten has been fed on Royal Canin Kitten and Black Hawk Kitten dry food mixed together which is obtainable from pet shops or a vet clinic. The dry food should be always available for them. We also feed them on Chef Kitten in sachets or large tins of
Whiska’s beef slices (beef) in the morning or tinned Royal Canin mother and baby cat (pink tin). They have had raw pet beef mince each evening which you can buy in the pet section at the supermarket – Jimbos is good. They need fresh water available at all times. I have not been giving them milk. It is important to keep them on the same diet for the first few weeks that you have them, as diet changes can cause an upset tummy and runny faces.
The kittens are used to having clay litter (I buy it from the supermarket) or Natures Flame wood pellets for kitten litter (available from Mitre 10). Always have a tray near where you keep them in the house and ideally do not let them have the run of the house in the first week as they might not be able to remember how to find the litter tray. I would suggest you have at least two trays strategically located in your home.
Grooming
They require very little grooming. I use a steel comb and a metal brush.
Health
Make sure when the kitten first come that he/she gets plenty of time to sleep. They are only babies and need their sleep to grow.
The kittens have been vaccinated, vet checked and flea and worm treatment around 9 weeks of age and will need their second vaccination and worm treatment at around 14 weeks of age. If you have any concerns re their health the vet is the best place to get sound advice. If they start getting runny faces then please take them to the vet as kittens will become dehydrated very quickly.
